I have recently lost some weight and have been eating more healthy, the downside to this is the fact i have ended up with piles

I had them in pregnancy but these i have atm are really awful, i can barely walk and i am in awful pain all the time.

I have been putting anusol on, but doesn't seem to be helping much at all, i have also tried pushing them back (sorry, sorry, i know FAR TMI!) but they keep re-appearing.

HELP please! i go on holiday on Friday and if i am still in this much pain, the hol is going to be awful too.

Hi, didn´t want you to think no-one saw your post. I had piles once but the cream sorted them out. The only thing I can suggest is emergency appointment to the Dr to see if you can get them sorted by Friday. Good luck - thinking of you.

Try drinking lots of water and an icepack wrapped in a teatowel down your pants can work for short-term relief as can arnica cream. Soph73 is right see your doctor. Good luck, I know how you feel.

Hi Pucca - went through the same thing recently so really feeling for you. Emergency appt with your doctor is a good idea to see if he can suggest anything which would help relieve the pain.

I found Anusol useless too.

Make sure you are drinking plenty and eating lots of roughage so it's easier when you poo.

Your GP might suggest something to ensure stools are soft - mine prescribed a gel which helped and the piles shrunk after a week or so.

I got mine as a result of using the SlimFast stuff - fabulous for weight loss but as they are fibre free I ended up constipated and with piles. I'm much better eating normal food and drinking loads.

Would an anti-inflamitary cream help do you think, sure there are some over the counter?

My friend got some cream recently for same thing, she was a nurse back in the day and asked for this type of cream with 'something' in it-not sure but lots of different ones out there, maybe anusol not for you?

I had them after my dd, so so bad.

Sorry If my message is confusing!

GP gave me some great cream worked in a couple of days the stuff over the counter was useless. He also said to have a couple of hot baths - found this gave good temporary relief.

They really are nasty things!

cheeset · 26/09/2007 17:47

Have you tried ringing NHS direct?

Looked on the net for advice?

auntyquated · 26/09/2007 17:54

go to your GP and accept nothing other than procto-foam.
this was advice given by someone on here and it really is magic stuff.

try searching for proctofoam on here and you may get more info

pucca · 26/09/2007 18:08

Thanks so much everyone, cannot believe how nasty these ones are , can't walk, can't sit, can't bend down, feel quite "green" and wishy washy too.

Feel like taking a knife down below, they are that bad.

I am gonna go docs in the morning and will ask for that proctorfoam stuff. Also going to have a nice bath later to try and relieve it a bit.

Feeling very sorry for myself boohoo!

Poor poor you. Go to the dr, you will be v glad you did. He won't want to see them, don't worry! I know the feeling it's SO not amusing, mine kept me awake at bloody night at one point.
