CA 125 Raised, hand hold

I received my CA 125 results today and they're at 62.

I do know I have a cyst that is classed as "complex" as well as fluid in at least one Fallopian Tube.

I'm only 30 so I know it's likely to be ok but even with the cyst this is the highest my CA125 has come back as. Urgent referral to gynae was sent last week and I have an appointment on 13th July.
Sad

I am sorry for you, you must be really worried. Just don't stress too much as CA 125 is not a very reliable test for your age. Hormones before menopause can really throw ca125 results and a cyst can further skew the results.
It is good that the GP has send you for a rapid referral and 13th July is not far. In the mean time try to be positive.
I wish you all the best and hope that things will turn in your favour soon.

I would try not to worry unduly about this particular CA125 test result.

CA125 can be raised by conditions such as fibroids and endometriosis. Example of a complex cysts are dermoid cysts and endometriomas (sometimes called a chocolate cyst) because these are filled with blood. So called chocolate cysts can be related to endometriosis.

I just wanted to tell you I was in a very similar situation to you exactly 6 years ago. I was even the same age as you and had not yet had kids.

For me, it turned out to be ovarian cancer. I had surgery, and they got it all. No further treatment needed. I lost an ovary and fallopian tube. I then went on to have my 2 kids and have enjoyed good health since. Just had my annual check up and all clear.

Try to stay calm and positive - I know how hard it is to do but I hope my experience helps X

Mines always raised due to ovarian cysts and endometriosis, I also have hydrosalpinx

Thanks everyone. I've had cysts before and had 2 removed but both were simple cysts whereas this one is complex. It's hard not to worry, I'm hoping the next week and a half goes quickly.

Trying to stay away from Google who helpfully directed me to lots of horror storiesHmm

Does anyone know if I'll be able to bring my husband with me to my urgent appointment? I'm supposing not but I can't bear the thought of receiving bad news without him there Sad

My appointment is on Monday and I'm feeling so anxious about it. I'm stuck between wishing it would hurry up and arrive but also that it won't ever come. If anyone else has been through this and had a positive outcome is really love to hear it right now Sad

I haven't been for ovarian issues but for a bump in the breast. The time from finding it to the ultrasound and confirmation was about three weeks and it was horrible. The days before my appointment with the consultant and then ultrasound were horrible.

It's normal to feel as you do. All I can say is that when you move on from it be it because you get confirmation it's nothing to worry about or the all clear after treatment, you do come out of it do much stronger and with a different approach to life.

Thank you for your kind words @dontdisturbmenow

I'm trying to be rational but the fact the GP rang me hours after my ultrasound to tell me she was referring me urgently to the gynaecologist feels particularly ominous.
