Hi I'm currently seeing a neurologist for some symptoms I have and I have a scan booked for next month I just wanted a few opinions on what my symptoms could be.

So nearly 2 years ago I had a brain hemorrhage after i gave birth - all is fine with that now and bleed has been treated. These symptoms have gradually built up over the last 18 months since then.

  • Balance issues (falling over a lot, very clumsy)
-Blurred vision and eye floaters
  • headaches both mild and severe
  • stutter and muddling up words
  • bad memory/time keeping
  • sensory issues - numb tingling left cheek, tingling on other cheek when going to the toilet (number 2) and numb cheek when I hurt/burn myself, numb head and neck which comes and goes randomly.
  • pins and needles when sat on toilet
  • numb toes wearing certain shoes/standing for too long
  • dizziness when standing up/palpitations
  • Brain fog daily
  • progressively worse vision over the last 18 months
  • propranolol taken daily for racing heart and tight chest
  • feeling of dread most days

Medications - apixiban, mirtazapine and propranolol

Sorry it's so long and thanks for reading.

I had similar symptoms all triggered by anxiety. Initially I refused to accept that it was anxiety because well, besides the worry of the symptoms, I didn't feel mentally anxious at all.

It transpires that I had started the perimenopause and the anxiety wasn't mentally triggered as it usually is but physically, ie. hormones withdrawal.

I am ok now but for the occasional attacks that last a couple of hours, or some symptoms for a couple of weeks but looking back, I can't believe what symptoms anxiety could trigger. Pins and needles, sudden reduction of sight in one eye that last a few hours to days. Severe lightheadness, headaches, and even balance issue.

Its been quite alarming curve as to what anxiety can do to our bodies.

Sound typical of anxiety, that can cause very physical symptoms.

I have MS so I have been through all the tests, MRI, bloods, chest x Ray etc.

What do you think it could be? The MRI will be a conclusive test. Mine showed two areas of inflammation in my spinal cord and lesions on my brain.

Hopefully yours will come back clear. Are you under stress at the moment? How long have you had the symptoms? Is there anything that makes them better or worse?

Good luck with your MRI, I have one each year they are fine, I usually just keep my eyes closed whilst in the scanner, usually takes 40 mins to an hour depending on how many areas are being checked, usually head, cervical & whole spine.

Hmm not medical but I agree re possibility of anxiety. Very scary for you. My anxiety manifested in supposed heart issues. After months of tests all coming back clear we investigated anxiety - much better.

I'm sure you're worried but I'd take heed that they haven't rushed you in for a scan! That's a good sign. What type of scan are you having and in what part??

Agree with anxiety but in my case my anxiety was triggered by severe b12 deficiency. I wasn't stressed but even a little overthinking led me to all the symptoms you are having. Luckily for me GP got a blood test done for vitamin deficiency before prescribing anti anxiety meds. After 6 vitamin b shots and regular supplementation my situation is resolved.

First of all you have my sympathy, as you've just listed all my symptoms to a T for the past 3 years. I was under a neurologist for 2 years for these symptoms - which I still get on a regular basis. MRI ruled out anything nasty as they were thinking MS or brain tumour. They've now catalogued them as 'functional symptoms' and that was that. I've been fighting with my GP to get some type of medication for the last 12 months as now I also get debilitating hemaplegic migraines and there are days when my eyes don't seem to work at all!! He's finally prescribed me Nortriptyline because it's used off label for neuropathy and migraines.

I have neurological symptoms and they’ve gone mad since my anxiety has flared up big time!

I honestly don’t know how to get out of this cycle! Sad I think propranolol flares up my neurological symptoms
