don't know what but a month on it's driving me nuts! It feels like very bad itchy sunburn and looks like chickenpox when it scabs over.

GP has given me betnovate cream and antihistamine tablets but it's not gone away and I don't know what to do anymore

any ideas?

Impetigo?

SuGaRCoAteDPoiSOn · 22/09/2007 16:04

i don't know.. the name I gave in the title is what the gp said.. it's awful, and it's everywhere except my face which is something to be thankful for I guess

I'm looking at possible dietary changes that might help.. dairy is looking most likely at the mo

just googled impetigo and it's not like that, it's more like hives when it starts

Definitely sounds like an allergic reaction then, but I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

Puts thinking cap back on

If docs diagnosis is correct, and I have no reason to doubt it, can you think of any 'trigger'.

Different washing powder etc.

I remember a huge reaction to shellfish may years ago,

SuGaRCoAteDPoiSOn · 22/09/2007 16:20

I've been thinking and thinking... nothings changed and what made me think today is that I got a new patch on my wrist.. and I've eaten 2 eggs today and more milk than usual because I had a bowl of cereal this morning.

I'm so fed up with disturbed sleep, blood on the bedsheets and all of that.. even the water in the shower hurts and I have it tepid like you would for a toddler and yet it feels as tho its burning - not nice

What you describe reminds me of an acute raction to latex substances, have you been having any decoration work in the house? any strong adhesives or similar?.

A month is a long time to have no relief plus increasing irritation, so I really feel that it's back to the doctors for you and be a little pushy if needs be.

I don't necessarily expect them to know immediately what's causing the reaction, but I do feel you can ask and expect some other type of antihistamine/antinflammatory treatment. I sympathise with the lack of sleep!

thanks NNT.. I'm due to go back next week, my GP is also a dermatologist so I'm guessing he'll have more of a clue than the others and has til now just been waiting to see if it goes away.

No decorating or anything going on, although it's desperately needed, lol
