If so, what was it like? Did you have to wear a mask as soon as you got to the hospital? Were all the health professionals in masks etc? Anything else different to normal?

Due to go in for a minor procedure in about 10 days, just as a day case, and wondering what it’s going to be like. My whole household (all asymptomatic) have to isolate for the 2 weeks beforehand. They’ve said I’ll have to do a covid test a few days before, but not sure what else to expect.

At my hospital you would be asked to wear a mask when you arrive and keep it on until you are in theatre. Staff on the ward are wearing surgical masks, gloves and aprons. In theatre we are all wearing full respirator masks, visors, gowns and gloves. We have fewer patients on the ward so it’s more socially distant. Other than that everything is normal. The patients we have had through so far all said it was fine and less scary than they had anticipated.

Thank you. Slightly odd question - I have a homemade 2 layer cotton mask (made according to the government instructions), but assume they’ll insist on their one for patients?
