METOCLOPRAMIDE for coughing

Apologies the capitals in the title - I had to copy and paste the name 😆
Has anyone been prescribed this for a cough that won't go? I've been coughing for the last 3 years and all tests are clear. I've had various different meds. It gets worse if I laugh and in wet weather.
The hospital have just told me they're trying me on this drug but warned that it could cause involuntary facial movements that may not go away 😮😮😮😮 Naturally I'm very wary!
Has anyone else used this drug with any success?

I was given it for chemotherapy sickness. It worked well for that with no side effects but I don't know about it's use for a cough.

Stopped the vomiting but caused movement disorder. So wish I had a time machine and could have not taken it.

Wild guess;

Could be they think you have silent reflux? And the metaclopramide will get your system going better and therefore empty your stomach more effectively? (I have GERD which often leaves me with a cough) x

I've taken it once. I temporarily (12 hours) lost all feeling from the waist down and my eyes rolled backwards. Apparently this isnt unusual, and especially affect younger adults, as I was then.

I have to declare to doctors my adverse reaction but it's not considered an allergy.

Personally I'd ask if there is an alternative.

I had it for sickness it caused tardive dyskinesia. My eyes rolled backwards, my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth, all my limbs curled up and I couldn't stop shaking. It's not an uncommon reaction apparently.

Yes it's for silent reflux. I'm scared I'll get dyskinesia and it will be permanent so I guess I'll give it a miss.
