Gaulle bladder pollipp symptoms

Greensheep242 · 24/05/2020 23:28

A couple of months ago an ultrasound showed a gaullbladder pollip and some signs of inflamation with the liver. The GP referred me to surgeons who are not seeing patients due to COVID. Since then I have have lost weight, had periods of vomitting but either controled by anti sickness medication or only an episode or two. Around once a week I get bad pain on the upper right hand side and into the shoulder whe I need to take paracetamol and tramadol or codeine if less sevvere. Is there anything else I can try as do not like the thought of using strong pain killers for so long, particularly as I have unexplained weight loss of over 8 Kg. The GP has advised going to A&E if vomitting or pain is uncontrolable.

Woken up again with pain and can’t get comfortable. I feel unsure about if I should speak to the GP or if this is pointless.

I am no medical expert but wanted to offer some help. A scan showed I had multiple polyps in the wall of my gall bladder. Eventually I had my gall bladder removed which was successful. In the meantime I was prescribed Ometprazole, though you can get it over the counter. I had severe pain as you describe but the medication stopped that. I hope you manage to get some help and get it sorted.

Thanks how has everything been since the surgery?

I had a bad day today no real pain but random vomitting.

My husband made sure I did absolutely nothing but rest for a week, mainly in bed. Complete success fortunately. I just ate normally afterwards and have experienced no further symptoms. Even if I occasionally do low carb high fat diet I am fine. I have heard of others who have not been so fortunate after surgery though. Thank you for asking.

Glad the surgery has been successful for you. Sounds like you were looked after well during your recovery.

I am struggling as needing to take tramadol or codeine for pain but don’t imagine waiting lists will allow that I am seen any time soon.

You have my sympathy OP, it’s terrible pain.

I had my gallbladder removed many years ago, such a relief to be out of that pain, my gallbladder was full of tiny gallstones, that were getting trapped in my bile duct. I am fine now, can eat anything.

Have the surgery ASAP, mine was done keyhole, I had a toddler & you baby at the time, I recovered very quickly. Good luck OP.
