Pins and needles lasting days. Any idea why?

Has anyone experienced pins and needles which last for up to 3 days? I've had 2 bouts of this in the last 2 weeks. I can feel them in my arms, legs, scalp and face. It feels like there's a light rain falling on me, if that makes sense?

Anyone any ideas what might be causing this, should I be concerned? TIA

That's good you are finally getting to speak to someone. Hopefully they will ask you to go in for a face to face appointment for further investigation. It can be really frustrating not knowing what is going on.

I've had my numb tingly chin for over 2 months now and unfortunately found a lump on my breast a few days ago. Plus just realised my lymph nodes on my head neck and breast are swollen, which I'm hoping is normal.

Mrsdaisy2 · 31/05/2020 20:18

I'm sorry Ispy, this must be incredibly difficult for you. Have you got a referral to see someone yet? It's hard enough being concerned about your health, but doubly so in these weird times.

Biglumpycustard · 01/06/2020 23:26

acocadochocolate Could I asked what was your symptoms.

Bambini83 · 02/06/2020 13:47

Hi just wondered if I could join this thread as someone who is awaiting referral to neurology for pins and needles amongst other symptoms. It’s an anxious time.

Mrsdaisy2 · 02/06/2020 14:15

Of course @Bambini83, the more the merrier. Have you spoken to your GP yet?

I've still got tingling all over my body, it's been there constantly for almost 2 weeks now. I'm really worried but have a telephone consultation with a neurologist next week.

All the best.

Bambini83 · 02/06/2020 14:30

Yeah, unfortunately my symptoms are nearing the 6 month mark now. I had full bloods back in November and dismissed as post viral symptoms. Saw GP a few times in between but they didn’t do much else. Things settled for a while but I had a relapse a few weeks ago and now have blurry vision in one eye. Mentally preparing myself for an MS diagnosis tbh.

I’m glad to hear you’re getting to speak to someone soon.

Biglumpycustard · 02/06/2020 16:40

I’m worried I have ms, my left foot tends to move inwards towards my right foot when relaxed and have numb toes.

Ispywithmycynicaleye · 02/06/2020 19:36

Mrsdaisy2 The Dr referred me to the breast clinic, my appointment is tomorrow morning at 9am. I'm really scared, if it's a cancerous lump then prognosis with its links to numb chin syndrome (which is what I have) is dreadful, something like mortality within 6 to 9 months.
I'm only 38 and have 2 babies under 2 so really trying to focus on the benign things it could be. Stupid mind keeps wandering every now and then and I start panicking.

Hopefully you hear soon from your neurologist, the wait is awful! This really is the worst time to need a Dr 🤦‍♀️

Mrsdaisy2 · 02/06/2020 19:50

Ispy sending you all the most positive vibes possible. It's hard not to think the worst, we all do it. Please, if you feel up to it, let me know how you got along.

Bambini83 · 02/06/2020 20:53

Oh Ispy, sending you lots of positive vibes too. I hope all turns out to be ok for you.

Mrsdaisy2 · 03/06/2020 11:04

Ispy how did you get on?

Ispywithmycynicaleye · 03/06/2020 13:46

It went ok, I think. During the examination the Dr appeared surprised to feel my lymph nodes and asked if I have been unwell recently. I haven't. She then said she thinks the bigger lump could be a lymph node and referred me for a scan, I should get a phone call to arrange an appointment in a week or 2.
So I dont think that is anything to worry about which is great. She didn't know what the lumps were on the back of my neck but did say I really need to be seen by neurology.

Thanks for all the positive vibes, Ithey were muchly needed and great appreciated Smile

I really hope you all get answers to what's going on soon too. This is such a bad time to need a specialist.

Bambini83 · 03/06/2020 14:41

Glad it doesn’t sound like anything too worrying Ispy. Interestingly I feel at times like my lymph nodes are enlarged but I put it down to having had a run of viruses.

I got a letter today to say I will get appointment to see neurologist soon but the minimum wait time is 5 months Sad

Mrsdaisy2 · 03/06/2020 15:46

Glad to hear it went well Ispy. Hope your next appointments come through quickly.

Bambini83, I cant believe there's minimum wait of 5 months. That's shocking!

Bambini83 · 03/06/2020 15:56

I know! The stress of waiting really isn’t going to help but I guess there’s not much I can do. Do you have any other symptoms Mrsdaisy2?

Mrsdaisy2 · 03/06/2020 18:44

I have an autoimmune condition already which seems to have gotten worse, my joints are really painful and I'm constantly tired. The weird tingling is driving me crazy though, it's all over and constant. Hopefully I'll find out more on Tuesday. Can't imagine they can tell me much over the phone though.

Bambini83 · 03/06/2020 19:14

I hope you get some answers soon Mrsdaisy2. The tingling sensations are really annoying aren’t they!!

Mrsdaisy2 · 03/06/2020 21:26

Yes, so annoying. I keep thinking it's raining but then realise I'm inside and it's just my tingling skin. Very strange sensation, I've never experienced anything like this until these past few weeks.

Mrsdaisy2 · 05/06/2020 11:56

15 days in any my tingling has gone!! Smile

Ispywithmycynicaleye · 05/06/2020 13:11

@Mrsdaisy2 That's great news! Hopefully you can still get to the bottom of what caused it.

Bambini83 Wow 5 months is ridiculous, have you told them about the blurry vision? I thought that was a symptom that required immediate investigation.

I found another big lump above my left breast, possibly another lymph node? It wasn't there when I went to the breast clinic. Did lymph nodes swell up for no reason? I haven't been unwell since last year plus the inflammatory blood test to check for infections came back negative. I'll highlight both lumps when I go for my scan.

Bambini83 · 05/06/2020 17:17

Oh Mrsdaisy2 that’s great news! Fingers crossed it was a minor blip and that’s the end of it. My pins and needles are lessening and have always been intermittent. I tend to get a strange buzzing feeling now for want of a better word.

I know Ispy. I’ve been considering going privately but would need to discuss GP. Yes they know scout eye blurring but don’t seem particularly concerned. I was checked out at a and e and they said it’s a long term issue that the GP needs to deal with?!?

My glands have been up for a while but I was ill with a bad virus in March having had a run of things late last year so I am generally run down. It’s all quite worrying though. I’m trying not to stress too much as I know it makes matters worse.

Bambini83 · 16/06/2020 19:50

Hi just wondered how everyone is getting on? I found a lump in my neck on Friday so been referred for urgent ultrasound - just waiting for letter. Can’t help but fear the worst. Ironically my pins and needles have settled down for the most part. The lump appears to move when I swallow which I read to involve thyroid but the nurse practitioner I saw didn’t think it’s thyroid related.
