So this bad boy has appeared! Photo doesn't quite show how big it is! Probably like a one pence piece kind of size! It's so painful and every time I move my arm I feel it! Any ideas on how to get rid of it?
Please 😂😂 apologies for the photo 🙈

JesusInTheCabbageVan Plague would be an interesting twist in life right now.

Namechange2020onceagain · 19/05/2020 20:44

What a tease. Grin

Hope it clears up. but not before we get a picture

doodleygirl · 19/05/2020 20:47

My daughter had this and ended up in hospital. If you can’t get rid of it yourself you need to go to walk in centre

Babdoc · 19/05/2020 20:47

OP, I think new posters are blocked from displaying photos in their first post. It’s to stop trolls posting offensive pics.
The most likely cause of an armpit swelling is a boil, often in an infected sebaceous gland. It will look red and inflamed and be extremely tender when pressed.
The pain will be relieved when it bursts and discharges the pus that is under pressure inside it.

MrsL1123 · 19/05/2020 20:53

Babdoc that's what it sounds like with how your describing it
Will try and see if I can get it to burst 😢

Frlrlrubert · 19/05/2020 20:56

Just wanted to say I can see both the photos

Frlrlrubert · 19/05/2020 20:58

I wouldn't squeeze that unless you can draw out a good head though, it looks quite deep at the moment.

HappyHammy · 19/05/2020 20:58

Babdoc may well be right. It could be an infected hair follicle or boil. Try hot flannels to try and bring the pus to a head. Keep it covered with clean gauze if you have some. Dont use deodrant. Keep an eye on the size and if it gets bigger or looks to be spreading you should speak to a dr.

ActuallyItsEugene · 19/05/2020 20:59

I can see your picture OP.

It looks very red and angry, but there's no head on it so I wouldn't try and prod just yet.
Is it your armpit? Ingrowing hair maybe?

A hot (as hot as you can stand) compress over it, as many times as needed before a head starts to form or you see a black dot at the surface. Then you can squeeze Grin

I had an ingrowing hair in my armpit and the exact same thing happened. I used heat to draw it out until I saw (what I thought was) a blackhead.
I squeezed but nothing happened so I gave it a little dig with a sterile needle, then used tweezers and pulled out a ridiculously long, coiled up hair. It was over an inch!

I want a photoGrin

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 19/05/2020 21:04

I want to go all Violet Elizabeth Bott and scream and scream until I see the spot.

IHateCoronavirus · 19/05/2020 21:04

I can’t see the photo! How are you seeing the photo people? Does the head have its own name?

ActuallyItsEugene · 19/05/2020 21:06

Can posters see the picture now?

MrsMozartMkII · 19/05/2020 21:07

IHateCoronavirus · 19/05/2020 21:09

ActuallyItsEugene · 19/05/2020 21:11

@giftponderings Grin hate to think of the poor posters who couldn't see that bad boy!

MrsL1123 · 19/05/2020 21:15

Eugine sounds like a good name actually 😂

Yes it literally just above my armpit and actually just appeared after shaving so could be related?

It's so painful so hopefully goes soon

HappyHammy · 19/05/2020 21:20

Dont pick at it. Sometimes a course of antibiotics are best. It looks painful.

HopeYouStepOnALego · 19/05/2020 21:20

Third head? Looks like an extra nipple to me!

ElectricTonight · 19/05/2020 21:21

😂😂😂
I can see every pic posted.

That looks so sore, looks like an ingrown hair, definitely do the flannel thing and also rub it in a circular motion gently to break the head/skin slightly.
