Anyone any good at reading opticians prescriptions?

I'm trying to order my dad some prescription sunglasses online and I cannot work out what part of the prescription is.

What does the bit written in the near cyl section for both right and left eye say/mean. It looks like AB but I can't find any information at to what this might mean. Any help appreciated. I don't want to spend money and then find out I've entered the prescription wrong!

From what I've seen cyl should be a number and the dash would indicate that there's none required.

No idea yet about AB but I'll keep digging.

As an aside, can you ring/email whomever issued the prescription and ask?

Or will the website let you upload/email them a pic of the prescription so they can see it for themselves?

Hmmm.
I worked as a dispenser in various opticians for decades and I’ve never seen AB on a prescription.

Usually if there isn’t a cyl they just put a line through.

I sent a message to the opticians via Facebook and they responded nearly straight away. Apparently it's says add

Oh I see.
So your distance prescription is +1.50 and your reading is +3.25.

Does he want prescription sunglasses for reading or for distance or for both?
(I wouldn't get varifocals online as you have to measure the frame on the patient's face).
