Lots of symptoms. Help me figure it out

On Friday evening about four hours after eating I suddenly became nauseous, had diarrhea, headache and a fever. I had eaten lentils. Not unusual for me.

I had night sweats. The symptoms have continued to today. The night sweats stopped after two nights and my fever seems less.

When I have a poo it feels like I've not fully emptied but then I need to go again soon after.

I have stomach cramp and generally feel rubbish. Could it be a blockage? I was eating quite a lot of fibre last week and was having solid poo until this started.

Try some peppermint tea. I had some instances of this during pregnancy and it really helped. Equally I irrated my stomach (on holiday eating lots of rich food) and had this for a couple of days. Lots of water, peppermint tea for wind and resting helped.

Thank you @blackcat86

Was there spinach in the lentils?

Have you tried buscopan? My dp gets diverticulitis and uses that to ease the pain. He's sometimes had to have antibiotics too.

This sounds like what I experience when my IBS flares up. I have to avoid fibre because of my IBS ,but sometimes it's not easy to avoid but I always suffer if I've uped my fibre in take.
I would get an appointment with your gp just incase they will feel your stomach and where the pain is they will beable to tell you.

It bloody hurts

I had the exact same symptoms as you OP right down to the night sweats, on the 22nd March it began. By day 4/5 the diarrhoea passed but I developed pain in my lymph node on one side of my neck, a sore throat, low grade fever, ear pain and headaches. I felt very poorly. I stayed like this for a 2/3 weeks.

I either caught a bug or I caught COVID and I don't know because this was the day before lockdown began.

I didn't find out till later that gastric symptoms can be part of COVID.

Sorry to revive this but I was just reading about Lectins which are in lentils and other legumes. They can be harmful for people if eaten too much.
