Forget what doc said about these tablets. Anybody know if I can take them (3) at the same time?

I have back pain and was given a prescription yesterday for 3 different tablets. Dp has only arrived home with them now and I've forgotten what the doctor said each of them was for.

I have...
Difene 50mg (pain relief) says one, three times a day
Diazepam 2mg (think for relaxing muscle)three a day also
Zydol 50mg (no idea what they're for)again, three a day

I have two questions 1)can I take one of each at the same time and 2)does three a day mean in 12 or 24 hours?

TIA
Abs

Hi Fran, I'm in Ireland so can't but maybe there's somewhere I can ring over here. Will check the book. Thanks

BTW, how are you doing? Any more news about OA?

no, not really. got 2nd opinion and she said same thing but also added about going to gym - like how the bloody hell can i afford a gym so just have to be careful. nor was there any advice about pain control either.

blondehelen · 15/09/2007 23:35

don't know what 1 and 3 are because I think that is the company drug name. But 3 times a day is every 24 hours, generally every 6 to 8 hours

Just went on drugs.com, it's very good. has a drug interactions link to see what meds you can take with others. Thank you very much NLNN

BH when I read your post I read the box (properly this time!) and I now know the first one is an anti-inflammatory/anti-arthritic

FM that you've been given this news. Can you adapt some exercises to do yourself at home rather than forking out for a gym membership? Also, what about diet and supplements like oil capsules etc? Did they give you any literature? (incidently, now that I know what defene is, couldn't you ask for simular anti-arthritic?)

am going to print this out when i get another docs appt. reminds me when i had to see about three different docs to get treatment for dd's reflux and silent reflux.

AbRoller · 16/09/2007 00:00

Thats awful FM. I really hope you get the understanding and help you need. It's so awful to be in pain all the time and in this day and age nobody needs to be. I'm all for natural remedies but when you've done all you can for yourself and you need pain relief it should not be a battle to get it.

You tell them next time that AbRoller said 'you better look after me or she's coming to get you'

Take care. We'll chat again soon. Nightnight

it kind of made sense though, have been in pain of some description for years and can feel for a few blissful seconds whe i have no pain anywhere, then it comes back. night night x
