Blisters on feet - any ideas?

Hi!

My 17 year old son has developed several blisters on the top/sides of his feet, as he's only leaving the house very occasionally for exercise/fresh air, we can't pinpoint why or how this has happened.

When he's home he is barefoot and if he's in the garden he's wearing flip flops.

He says they aren't painful generally but hurt when he puts shoes on.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks Smile

Do they itch? Can you post a pic? Could be pompholx excema. They tend to be small fluid filled blisters that form on hands and feet. They come up in small clusters then spread. You need a good, high strength steroid cream to treat them and they can grow pretty big. They are generally insanely itchy however, so if hes not i doubt its that

is he gaming, sitting on his knees with feet rubbing the carpet?
or has he grown and needs new shoes?

Flip flops as in the rubber type ? They give me blisters too.

Covid appears to be leaving sores and blisters on the feet of some young people.

moostermum · 25/04/2020 20:30

This is a symptom of Covid. Google it

I think it is probably just the rubber flip flops rubbing his feet. They can stick a bit on hot feet. Get him to put the flip flops on and see if the blisters correspond.

Sometimes they form when sweaty and hot. I used to get them on my hands and feet. Just some calamine or medicated talc used to help.

Thanks for the replies.

He's a size 13 shoe, and he says they fit, the shoes he's worn when he's been in the garden are like sliders - so they are rubber but don't touch the area where he's got the blisters plus he's worn them loads since he has them.

I did read that it's a symptom of Covid, but he's fit and healthy otherwise and hasn't been out for over a week!

I've got some medicated talc so I'll give him that and keep an eye on it!

Could they be bites if he is in the garden. Do they have fluid in them. I wouldnt use talc. It just makes a gloopy mess when you sweat. Can u post a pic or see the pharmacist.

My son has the same! I could've written your post.
I sent some photos to my GP who originally said they are pomphlyx but the blisters are so big, she's prescribed antibiotics. He's been on them 5 days and not much improvement yet.
Has there been any change? Have you had a diagnosis?
Definitely not shoes, rubbing, too small shoes etc. He has no shoes on for most of the day! This is a skin condition

Hi, I have the same problem (pomphylx) i developed it first week after giving birth to my first.
It’s been almost 2 years. Would really appreciate it if you’ve managed to find a cure.
I’ve tried steroid creams and tablets. they keep coming and they’re huge.
