I was diagnosed with high blood pressure about a month ago . Started on 2.5 Ramipril which didn’t do anything then increased to 5mg which brought it down nicely . It continued down and stayed fine for two and a half weeks but has suddenly fir no reason shot up again . It’s so strange ! I haven’t done anything different or forgotten to take any tablets .
Anyone experienced this ?

Do you take your medication the same time every day?
How many times have you taken your BP?
If doing home monitoring we advised to take 3 readings & use the best. Be sat still for 15 mins before taking a reading & leave a minute between each reading.

When taking it make sure you are sat with your back supported, if an upper arm cuff it needs to be as high as your heart so you made need to put a cushion on you lap so your arm isn’t resting down by your side. Don’t take it within half an hr of a coffee, make sure your legs/ankles aren’t crossed. Take several readings over a week or two and write them down then, if high, phone to discuss with the dr.

Be aware if your cuff is too small for your arm, you are taking a reading over a sleeve or you need to empty your bladder, the reading may not be accurate.

Thanks v much . I can try some of these ideas for sure . The point is though that even with any possible errors these errors Wouid have been there when my bp improved so much . So the same “state “ is there
The only differential is that I’m using a new pack of Ramipril but the dosage is the same

I have been taking Ramipril for about 5 years now and found swapping between different brands caused me all sorts of problems with bp readings.
I eventually found one that I felt the best on and asked my doctor to put on the prescription that it had to be that particular brand and all my problems stopped.
The active ingredient is the same in all but they do can differ otherwise.
