Non-blanching rash help

My DS(18) has suddenly developed a non-blanching rash on both feet and ankles. It's like little pin pricks. He's otherwise fine.

He had a video consultation with the doctor who very quickly said it was contact dermatitis and to use some hydrocortisone. Wouldn't a dermatitis rash blanch? I'm worried it's a blood issue given that it doesn't go away when pressed with a glass (so is essentially bruising).

Anyone have any experience of a non-blanching rash on the feet or of contact dermatitis?

(PS, despite being 18 he showers daily and washes bedding weekly).

I’ve never had a rash from contact dermatitis- mostly the skin dries and cracks/peels which is very unpleasant but then again I’m not a doctor!

Is it a surface rash or is it under the skin? If you feel you’ve been advised incorrectly and if your DS has any other symptoms I’d attempt for a second opinion.

I have what looks like a burst blood vessel rash all across the inside of both of my feet, it was worrying when I first observed it but after a few tests it was determined as benign and remains to this day (even though it first appeared over a decade ago!).

Thank you. It seems to be both on and under the skin, if that makes sense.

He is okay in himself so I don't want to bother the doctors again since they're so busy. Just seems weird that she seemed unfazed by the fact that it didn't go away when pressed with a glass. Guess I'll see how it goes.
