He did it maybe a week ago, but I thought maybe it was something else that he had slipped into his nappy or something, but today he farted, like he was pooing, so I change dhis nappy and it was mucus - not a huge amount, just like the amount you get when you blow your nose when it's all gooey (sorry!). Is that normal?

I used to get that when ds2 had a cold. Or he has a slightly upset tummy. Is he teething at all - I know that it is not supposed to affect their tummies but sometimes all that saliva can loosen things up a bit.

I think he is, well, he has been whingy the last 2 days and had a temperature.

yes, if he is generally snotty he will have been swallowing it and it can come out v gooey

poor him!

Niecie · 11/09/2007 13:49

If he has a temperature and no cold my money would be on a slight tummy bug.

Having said that maybe he has a sore throat. Is he eating?

merryberry · 11/09/2007 14:03

qp, mucus in bm's can >sometimes< indicate a problem in the mechanical funtion of the bowel - i would take to docs for this symptom. i hope he feels better soon x

Quootiepie · 11/09/2007 15:58

oh, he has been eating tons less and had smelly breath so possibly a sore throat...?

This happens to my DS when he is teething.

He's not cutting a molar is he?

I tend to only notice once they are through

Quootiepie · 11/09/2007 16:15

erm, Ill have to have a look - I have lost track of his teeth

Quootiepie · 11/09/2007 16:15

O, by the way it was just mucus, no poo.

Quootiepie · 11/09/2007 16:18

he is getting something through at the top between his molar and front 4 teeth.

I thought that the incisors were supposed to be the worst to cut so it could be that.

See how he gets on over the next few days.

Quootiepie · 11/09/2007 17:11

ok, thanks
