Anyone else had this? My daughter's joints have started cracking when she moves, especially if she waves, or if she's pulling on my hands. It's mostly her wrists, arms and shoulders, but I also felt it happen in her back.
She doesn't seem to be in any pain, so not sure she needs go to the doctor, it's just a bit odd.
Anyone got any clues?

To be honest my ds used to be like this. Used to feel it when you held his hand! Is she extremly flexible. My ds is and currently has rolling in feet as they call him hypa flexic or something like that. Because he is so flexible his feet dont stay in the right position. He just does tip toeing exercises to keep his arches strong but the physio has said its all down to his pure flexibility. They dont worry about it and he only sees her every 12 months now

He is alot older now and the craking did stop but I remember it happening. Used to go right through us.

DD has this, she is nearly 4 and has just been diagnosed as Hypermobile...she is basically double jointed in most of her joints. It is caused by stretchy ligaments. Not back at the hospital for 2 years now.

Yes they have used that term also! Did she have the cracking aswell. I cant remember when it stopped in ds. Hes is now 10!!!!

Hmm. Not sure if she's extra flexible. They all seem to be at that age. Is it something you'd notice?

With DD it is noticeble, you can bend her thimb to touchthe inside of her wrist, her hand goes back to almost touch the top of her arm, her arms flop when extended and elbow locked, if she is laid on her tummy she can raise her legs at the knee and her legs will flo pto the side flat on the surface. She can put both hands flat on the floor and straighten her legs. We are hoping that all her joints wil stabilize with gentle excercise and time.

um well maybe not really. I dont think I really new until he went to his physio appointment and they seemed to bend him around a bit examining him. Thats when you realize how bendy they are. Other than like the age where they start to show off in school lol. Yeah I suppose you dont realize at that younge age.

mankyscotslass · 11/09/2007 10:17

Agree, we never really noticed just how flexible she was til the doctor did this, but we alway felt she was a bit loose when we were playing with her or handling her.

hepzibah · 15/09/2007 14:17

Nope, had a gentle bend and I wouldn't say she was particularly flexible. No double joints, anyway.
Really just giving this another nudge in case anyone else has any other experiences.
Thanks, though.
