Mostly on his body and legs, red rash that usually comes with a virus-y type thing (seen it many times before over the years on older ds's).

It's deffo NOT a mengingitus(sp???) rash.

Could it be a egg allergy??

He has had egg in other food before with no reaction. Custard, yorkshire pudding...cake that the ds's sneeked into him all snaffled down without any problem.
But as thsi was just egg it maks me wonder.

He has been a bit grumpy over the last few day and has been waking at night which isn't like him at all...

Hi ladyTophamHat, my dd had an allergic reaction to scrambled egg at 12 months. She had previously eaten a very small amount of pancake that had egg in it and showed no reaction. When she reacted she went extremely pale and then got a red rash like little hives all around her mouth and became distressed. This was after eating only 1 teaspoon of scrambled egg. She had allergy tests done and showed up positive for an egg white allergy. She didn't have an all over rash like you describe but I think the reaction can be different depending on the person. I did notice that dd's eczema which had been ok for a while flared up terribly after the reaction.
I wasn't brave enough to try her on egg again until I saw the consultant and he said she must avoid ALL contact with egg for 2 years and then be re-tested.
Hope this helps. Hope your ds is feeling better.

As far as I'm aware, the rash would show up immediately and then graually go down again, or at least that's how people have described the reaction to me. Can you take a picture of the rash if it's still there? That's what the gp said to me when I thought F had a reaction to egg, then you can show them.

Normally an allergic reaction shows on the second exposure not the first. Ds had egg allergy when we first gave him scrambled egg - we thought he'd never never had any egg before, but later on questioning by the docs realised he'd had some quorn thing at a friends the week before. Anyway the reaction was immediate and was swelling of lips, mouth and eyes. If he's been off colour lately I reckon it's more likely to be a viral think.

thing not think!

Rash is still there,

He's felt quite hot and feverish today and the rash seems to be all merging together in some parts.

He's been totally fine though, will see how it is in the morning and go to the Gp if its still there...
