Hi i am feeling so low, because my forgetfullness is gradually getting worse. It's always been a joke with my family, that i'm forever forgetting my jacket or hat etc at someone's house, but sometimes more seriously i forget to lock the car at night or forget to pay bills.

But since having ds2 5 months ago, i find that this is getting worse and could be something serious. On a daily basis i often go upstairs for something only to forget when i get there what it is i went up there for. I take the milk out of the fridge only to put it back in the cupboard and then realising like 10 seconds later that its supposed to go in the fridge.

Am i going slightly mad??!! I decided to make an appt with my GP today after DH really shouted at me for forgetting to lock the car, yet again!

Has anyone been in a similar position? Please please post your experiences, i need to feel reassured that things will get better.

I am the same, DS is 5 months too. I have started writing lists! not that they do much good sometimes.

Join us on the May No. 5 thread - I started it . . . and it should actaully be No. 4 . . . See what I mean?

Think it is just par for the course once you have children. I put it down to having 3,000 things per minute to think about - it's obvious we are going to be much more distracted and do scatty things. TBH, I dont know if it gets better - Ive got gradually more forgetful after each child. My mum had 5 and does the most mad things!! But, we seem to remember to do the important things, like care and love our families, so try to put into perspective all the things you do right in a day, as opposed to the few things that you may forget to do.

If it is really worrying you though, your visit to the doc will be sure to put your mind at rest.

Sandi102, I felt like that and it was hypothyroidism -- it happens to many women and is easy to correct. Your GP should do a simple blood test to determine if that's it.

HTH, there are loads of us here with it and it's not bad at all. Just a tiny pill to take everyday.

thanku everyone. I went to see my GP who prescribed me iron tablets and told me to take some vitamins. He even asked me whether i was taking a relaxant, like cannabis!! my DH laughed. He wants to see me again in 6-8 weeks. I'll do some research on hypothyroidism. JJ did you find that this improved things for you?
