I was walking to the car this morning to take Ds to school holding dd's hand when she decided she did not want to hold my hand & throw herself on the floor well where she fell a bone moved out of place in her elbow area.

I have taken her to hospital & they said they would move it back in, 2 attempts & she thought it was done.

She now is home with it in a sling but still won't move it & is crying alot.

Is this normal to carry on crying like there is pain? i am not to convinced it is "right" so to speak, they idd no X ray.

They said if she is still not moving it etc in the morning to bring her back.

What do you think? anyone have any experience?

How did you go on Scoooby?

Well when dp came home we had a look at it & he thinks it is in her mind a bit, he thinks that because she was in soo much pain when it was done that if anyone now touches it she might get that pain again.

We put her to bed last night, she did wake at 2am for about 30 mins then went back to sleep.

When she got up this morning she has been playing, running round & talking jibberish so is back to normal when she is not aware of her arm & playing she does move it & lift it even uses it a bit this morning but if i go to her & take her arm out the sling or touch it she crys alot.

As time has gone on though she is moving it alot more it's only if i make a thing about it or if i remove it from the sling she cries, i think she only feels safe with it in the sling.

will see how she is at the end of today if no more inprovement i am going to take her back this evening.

Well we got her up from her nap, we have taken the sling off, she cried a bit but we tried to distract her, put some music on & she started dancing, after about 15 mins she forgot about her arm & is now using it as normal, so far also seems to be happy without the sling on, i think she was scared more than anything.

Hopefully it is fully ok but i will be keeping a close eye on it.

that's great.

I am pleased. My dd ended up having 3 ops and 5 years later she has mobility problems and 9' scar. So I am realy pleased to hear that we were in the minority and that most of these injuries are picked up early.

Didn't want to scare you yesterday for no reason, but that was my concern!

Thanks i am also feeling more relieved, she is not using it as much as she would so is still aware but sling is still off.
