Any cardiologists or sonographers around?

I have an annual echocardiogram to check my left ventricle function after it was discovered 15 years ago that multiple PVCs were affecting my ejection fraction. Since being on medication this has improved and I now just have monitoring visits. Usually the sonographer does the test, says nothing and I get the results a week or so later from the cardiologist. This time she asked me a number of questions - do you have palpitations? Can you feel palpitations now? Do you take beta blockers? How’s your breathing? This has made me feel quite anxious that my heart has deteriorated as it’s so different from my previous experiences. I know no one can say, and I don’t know why I’m posting really - just to ask whether you would see this as a bad sign I suppose?

Hi, I also have annual echocardiograms and have been asked these questions before. Like you I started worrying, but my results were fine, so I think they're just routine questions that they sometimes ask.

Thanks Mammamia that’s reassuring!

You were probably having a few PVCs during the test.

BTW they are clinical physiologists, not sonographers.

Yes they said I was. I didn’t know that - will use correct term in future!
