DD hurt her finger a week ago catching a ball at school - it was a bit swollen and sore (not massively so) and wouldn't bend all the way, but there wasn't any particular indication of it being anything serious, and she's always getting bumps and scrapes!
However although it was getting better gradually, she's been complaining that a week later it seems to have stopped improving and is still painful, and also she still can't bend it all the way (if she makes a fist, that finger sticks up noticeably from the others), so I'm thinking maybe it should be checked out - it doesn't seem mega bad but I wouldn't want to miss it if she actually has done something more serious to it, and also want to make sure she gets the full movement back. But not sure whether to take her to the GP (not sure if they could do much or just have to refer us somewhere else anyway?) or to minor injuries or what. Any thoughts on what might be wrong, or at what point and where to take her to get it looked at please? I don't want to waste the doctor's (or our) time taking her to the wrong place or if it doesn't really need seeing yet. Thank you!
