Has anyone else had this annoying cough had it for around 2 months. Started off a wet cough but now it has gone to a dry tickle cough. Had a chest X-ray which come back all clear, had anti biotics hasn’t cleared it...Not to mention my ears have been popping and cracking all the time for weeks also... Just so fed up just wish it would go away now, any advise would be much appreciated.

If you can bear it, crush a clove of raw garlic and swallow it with a glass of water first thing each morning. You will feel your sinuses drying out as it goes down.

Enjoy.

How bad is the cough? An annoying constant one or big coughing fits?

Try keeping off dairy? There’s a link to creation of phlegm. Perhaps that’s causing you a tickle and is related to your ear issues. Does no harm to jack it in for a fortnight and see if it helps? Worked for me. I no longer eat cheese, take black tea/coffee etc.

Realitea the cough is just a dry tickly cough now it was chesty phlegm cough but it seems to have improved, but just wish it would disappear now had it long enough.

Try making a thyme tea. Thyme is brilliant for thickly coughs. I had whooping cough a few years ago and it did help soothe it a bit

If you are fairly certain that the cough was not caused by a virus and is just hanging on, then perhaps research cough caused by reflux.

I had this tickly cough for froggy throat that just went on and on. Finally went to the GP who handed me a very helpful food list for reflux - foods to avoid and food to eat. My whole diet was in the to avoid list!

But a pp mentioned dairy - the anti-reflux list refers to high fat - so perhaps reduce dairy to very low fat items. Avoid citrus, tomato, onion, fizzy drinks etc.
