Can't wear anything high waisted due to stomachache ache

Hello!

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar?

If i have ANYTHING on around my waist, no matter how big i get the worst tummy ache and wind!! Blush

It doesnt matter if its lose fitted around the waist (wrap dress) or tight fitted. I'm in agony after a few hours!

I havent had any kids so dont think it can be muscle seperation. However when i wear my waist trainer under clothes (goes from under boob to top of knickers) I'm fine!! Which is weird!!

Any thoughts?! Its massively affecting my wardrobe as everything needs to be under my belly button and I'm apple shaped!! So not a good look!!

Thanks in advance

This is nothing to do with Style and Beauty, and should probably be in medical matters. Better yet, I'd see your GP who would be properly qualified to diagnose. Using words like agony is either a massive over exaggeration, or you have something medically wrong.

baileysandamincepie · 23/02/2020 15:22

Or is this spam for the benefits of a waist trainer?

Thickums · 23/02/2020 15:25

Huh? No this is not spam. I've had my waist trainer for years and dont even remember where i got it from. But the only thing i can handle around my waist if needing shapewear.

Yes it is agony and requires a lot of rennies!

Posted on this forum as thought others who wear high waisted clothes (in fashion atm) may experience similar? And if they had any ways around it?

But ill ask MNHQ to move to a different forum if not appropriate.

Ok. Possible S&B related answer....your clothes are too tight. Go up a size or two.

CalamityJune · 23/02/2020 15:30

I think I have had this when wearing tight fitting things around the waist, but I wouldn't describe it as agony, more bloating, especially if i'm sitting a lot at work

Thickums · 23/02/2020 15:32

@baileysandmincepie

I've tried that. Even joggers in a size 18 were very uncomfortable (im a size 14).

I'm wondering. If im wearing getting thijgs high waisted enough if that makes sense?
Maybe the style of clothes I'm getting are cutting in the wrong place as waist trainer doesnt hurt?

Ive just ordered the 'mum jeans' a size too big so that should come up even higher on my waist. But wondering if that will just look silly for me to style them an inch under my bust? Confused

As an apple shape if i don't define my waist i dont have one unfortunately!

I suffer with bloating op and find anything round my waist really uncomfortable at times, have been gluten free for a while now and it definitely helps! Maybe try some loose dresses with tights/boots atm until you see gp?

Do you still get this if it’s been a month or two since you’ve worn your waist trainer? My friend had similar and giving that up helped - they don’t do any good; just squeeze you in weirdly, which might be causing the pain to be worse when it’s applied directly.

I’d stop wearing the waist trainer until at least the start of June, and then try something high waisted (making sure it’s a big enough size) and see how it goes.

If i'm getting things not high waisted enough**

Hi, OP. We'll ping this over to general health for you now. Flowers

If Rennies help then you’ve probably already got your diagnosis. There are medications which reduce the acid production (eg omeprazole and other PPIs) so that you don’t keep getting pain you have to try to fix with Rennies if this is a regular problem for you. If you get no symptoms except when you wear things which hug your waist then there is possibly an even simpler solution to your problem. Do see your GP if this is a regular thing though.

Thanks guys.

I only wear the waist trainer for special occasions where i wear a fitted dress such as weddings or birthdays. So maybe 5 times a year.

I wore a wrap dress yesterday with chealsea boots and omg the bloating was so bad.

Ive had it for years but as i was slimmer didn't bother me as i didnt wear high waisted clothes and could get away with it.

Now ive gained weight due to medication (lifetime medication unfortunately), ive had to switch up my style. But the damn pain and bloating means i have to dress so damn frumpy to be comfortable!!

Really getting me down!!
