I have a pain in my calf that I can only describe as a feeling of localised pressure. It has been there since last night and I am quite worried it might be DVT as I had a long flight at the weekend and it is in the right place on my calf. Also I had a suspected pulmonary embolism a couple of years ago after an op. I am waiting for the gp to open so I can make an appointment but does anyone have any experience of this?

I mean an immediate scan.

In fairness I did get a call this afternoon asking if I could get there immediately but I was in the supermarket with dd and said I could be there within the hour but that was too late and the next time they had was first thing in the morning. I suppose if I was worried I was going to drop dead I would have been on standby to get there immediately.

yes you really shouldn't be shopping in a supermarket if you think it could be a DVT. But I'm sure you know that

I got the all clear thankfully NHS were pretty good, I was in and out within 20 mins and everything was clean and efficient.

Carmenere - if you go on another long flight, it might be worth getting some anti DVT stockings. And talk to your GP about other ways to prevent DVT - for example drinking plenty of water, movement, even blood thinning injections are prescribed in some circumstances.
