Is it 2?

If so, DD1 will be 5' 5" (half an inch taller than me - hoorah!).

I think it is.

that's what I've been told - have a grand measuring planned for DS's birthday next week :-) but it's +/- 2cm I think.. (an inch?)

MaureenMLove · 03/09/2007 18:25

I think its 2 as well.

MoosMa · 03/09/2007 19:14

That's good, I'm 5'4 and so is DH so 5'5 will be quite an acheivement!

What is it for boys then? I always thought it was 18mths for girls & 2 yrs for boys. I'm now totally confused!

fillyjonk · 03/09/2007 19:20

oh fkn jesus REALLY?

dd is going to be about 4 ft then, aaaargh

what about boys?

12lbnaturally · 03/09/2007 19:25

I thought it was more complicated than that. Don't you have to add the parents height together, divide it by two and then add 10cm or something like that? The formula is in the back of your child's "little red book" - you know the one they get all the height/weight immunisations etc put in.

Watling, your girl may end up being a supermodel!

kid · 03/09/2007 19:25

I thought it was 2 years and 4 months.
There must be something about it on the internet somewhere, who is going to be the first to find it though?

JiminyCricket · 03/09/2007 19:27

No my MIL is always going on about this and its about two for boys I think, but a lot older for girls. I am very sceptical but she has been right so far with all the cousins (they are all giants, so it didn't seem very believable back then).

kid · 03/09/2007 19:28

foundthis
works it out for you

12lbnaturally · 03/09/2007 19:35

Kid,

That is very useful and a lot quicker than trying to work it out. Bravo!

missgriss · 03/09/2007 19:42

I used the info at the back of the red bood and my dd is going to be 5'7". It'll be a miracle if she reaches that height as she is on the 2nd centile for her length at the moment

missgriss · 03/09/2007 19:46

Maybe she is going to be tall...that calculator said she is going to be 5'8" at 21!

MoosMa · 03/09/2007 19:46

Oh dear, that says she's going to be 5'1

18 months for girls, 2 years for boys. Very random though

missgriss · 03/09/2007 20:00

There's nothing wrong with being shorter. I'm 5'10" and would love to be a good few inches smaller

12lbnaturally · 03/09/2007 20:02

I'm over 6'. I've never had a problem with my size. I guess if you get the mickey taken out of you at school then it becomes a problem. I wish my feel were smaller though.......

pooka · 03/09/2007 20:02

I really really don't think this works. DS is a large enough lad. Fairly tall. I am 5'6 and dh is 6'0. According to the calcs he is going to be about 5'5.

Am having mental image of oddjob. He is quite stocky.

MoosMa · 03/09/2007 20:31

Tell you what, hold on 19 years and I'll let you know

Not really reliable, tbh.

There is some Canadian femur measurement test the paeds did on DD1 when she went for one of her assessments.

According to that she'll be around 5ft., 10 in. Paed said if she had to wager, she'd say 5ft., 11in.
