Hi everyone. Should I have changed my name for this one??? I have a problem and I know some of you lovely girls can help me. I am suffering terrible trrible night sweats. So much so that I have to change my bedding every day. Literally soaking. Nice. AND-this is even more of a problem. I have one-just one-very very wet armpit. Not smelly (!!) just so wet that it is seriously affecting what I can wear. Have tried strong deodorant but am thinking botox could be only answer. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and what I can do??? A huge sweaty thanks in advance (and I seriously think my DH will come back to me!!!)

Hi Sweaty Betty its Sweaty Becky

Was talking about this to spook last night whilst we were out and I didnt realise she suffered!!! I have had similar problem since I had DS and it has really been worrying me especially regarding the wedding dress!!!!

Must order some driclor.

spook · 02/10/2004 09:58

Hi everyone-think my problem this morning is kebab breath rather than pit alert (Sweaty Beccarollover force fed me kebab with garlic sauce at some ungodly hour this morning)-but-anyway....rudely awoken by postie this morning with my Driclor!!Oh the beauty of internet ordering. So will apply tonight and do the DVF dress test and let you all know. Am so excited. But I PROMISE I will see my GP next week too girls.

Yoyo-have just looked at instructions and it doesn't mention bf but it must be pretty potent stuff so I would check with GP if I were you.

Hello o' fellow sweaty one

Is it as quick as that? Or does it take a few weeks to build up to be effective?

I think ill get some and try it so Im not sweating through my first dress fitting next week.

and PS I DID NOT force feed the kebab - I was ready to walk on by and spook pulled me in - the lure of Snotty Peter the resident kebab shop raver was too much!

spook · 02/10/2004 10:31

It works THAT quickly apparentley. Put it on last thing at night, wash it off in the morning and hey presto! No sweaty pit. Sounds too good to be true.

I need some - imagine not worrying about what to wear it really does sound too good to be true

yoyo · 02/10/2004 14:06

So how does it work? What happens to the sweat? I'm sure I once saw a programme where someone had the op and the doctor said that the sweat could become more profuse somewhere else.

blossomhill · 02/10/2004 14:10

At first I had to put it on about 3 days in a row. After that it was about once a month, 6 weeks. I wouldn't be without it now. The fact you only put on a small amount every now and again makes me worry less. It can be a bit irritating as in burny feeling. It doesn't last long and is well worth it have dry armpits!!!

Beccarollover · 02/10/2004 14:12

Blossomhill - do you really, really, really stay totally totally dry with it?

blossomhill · 02/10/2004 21:04

Becca -Yes, honestly! If I am running around a lot and it is extremely humid I may sweat a tiny, weeny bit. Nothing like I used to though!!!

Beccarollover · 04/10/2004 09:16

Sweaty betty update!

I put this on day before yesterday and yesterday was totally dry all day! Couldnt believe it - have had this prob since finishing BF Harvey (now 1) and its such a relief that I might be able to just wear what I want without thinking about it.

It doesnt half sting when you put it on though!

spook · 04/10/2004 09:19

Sting??? It brought tears to my chuffing eyes.

I think you should change your name to beccarollon

zubb · 04/10/2004 09:28

ooohhh only just seen this thread. I have used Driclor, but sometimes the stinging was so bad that I used to be washing it off after 30 minutes or so!

spook · 04/10/2004 09:35

Oh good Zubb. I thought maybe I had extrasensitive pits. I slathered them in Eight Hour Cream over the driclor-it helped the pain. Couldn't concentrate on Michael Palin it was so bad!!

It was very bad the stinging - mind over matter and breather i found worked and also tucked the duvet under my arms.

Ive chucked my instructions - how long do we keep doing the nightly application????

Can you help with the instructions? How many days do you apply before you do it less regularly?

spook · 04/10/2004 13:48

Am at work and don't have them but I think you just keep going until it feels better then as and when you feel it may be wearing off. If you're feeling damp I would give it another couple of nights at least if you can stand the smarting. Ooof-just thinking about it makes me wince.
This whole subject is cheering me up hugely though BR. I look like I'm working so hard but I'm just staring into space trying to think of song titles.

I think we should start a "Sisters for Dryness" campaign to alert all of those black top wearing people that there is an answer! A little bottle of driclor.

I think I will keep going and as a celebration Im going to buy a grey top!

I think the biggest testament to its effectiveness is that I was dry as a bone even when being forced to sing Twinkle Twinkle down the phone.
