Hi all, took dd2 to GP today (she is 19months). She has, over the last week or two gone from drinking 2 or 3 cups of water a day to about 12, I have been changing her wet nappies constantly. Her colour had gone and she seemed very grumpy inbetween meals. My GP has taken urine samples and she is going for blood tests tomorrow, the main concern for him was diabetes and he said drinking this amount of water was a concern.

I am sitting here fretting now and wishing I had asked more questions.

Any advice or experiences of these symptons would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Hi all, we are doing ok, up days and down days. I have found the CWD site and it has really helped so thankyou for that. We have an appt at UCLH soon regarding pumps. Still finding the hypos hard to deal with, and night time as I'm so paranoid something will happen to her while shes sleeping....

How is everyone else?

I'll be celebrating my 23 years anniversary for having diabetes this Friday! Still no complications apart from hypo unawareness!

tangarine · 04/10/2007 21:22

Paddy,

Happy anniversary! Do you remember life before d?

paddyclamp · 05/10/2007 18:30

I remember it vaguely. I was in year 4 at school so i remember being in hospital etc and the hard days of getting used to the idea of being diabetic. But I find it hard to imagine life without it now.

Off out to celebrate tonite. Any excuse!

Hi Lulurose, how are things. I was diagnosed at aged 1. It was very hard for my mum. Specially when I said " no more pricks mummy"
But its , in some ways easier, for Tess than it is for you. I have always been diabetic, never known anything else.
Its easier that way.
I love paddyclamp's comment :
"If i had a wish that i could change just one thing in my life i wouldn't waste that wish on diabetes, and that's after 20 year with the bugger! "
I feel that way too.
