cervical cancer innoculation for girls who miss out on government scheme

Am quite keen for my girls to have all the public health jabs they need. Youngest will be in line for the cervical cancer jab ,when the scheme roles out across the country. Oldest (14) will not be included in the national scheme.

I have seen ads in the papers for private innoculations and am considering doing this.

Has anyone already done this ,how much is it and what is your opinion . Should I wait or get it done as soon as pos?

I work at a fp clinic, one of the docs and I were discussing our 12yr old girls, she said that all girls should have this done. The thing is, are the private innoculations the real deal?
It would only work if any lass who was to have this jab is (how do I put this) a virgin. Please, please, please do not think I am insinuating anything but the amount of 13 and 14 yr old girls that walk through our doors would make you cry, I know this because it makes me cry. I don't know if this is any help to you.

I've got an almost 12 year old too. Do they need to have it done by a certain age or is it Ok to wait until it rolls out across the country and then contact our gp?

Do you think they will advertise it or will you be called by the GP. i also have a 12 yr old and hope she will beable to have it.
so far have seen nothing on the walls or in leaflets at the surgery.

I have HPV that has resulted in CINII/moderate dysplasia, successfully treated with loop electroexicision procedure.

I donated my biopsy sample to research for this vaccine.

I'm so glad to see parents interested in protecting their daughters' health with this!

You'd do anything to protect your babies, wouldn't you.
I had pre-canerous cells, so I'm keen to make sure she gets it thats for sure.

I don't think it is avaliable yet, at least not on the NHS, it shouldn't be long though, it has been a very popular topic of converstaion at work lately.

My dd is a virgin , but by the time it offic ially roles out "for everyone else " in a few years, she might not be.
Interested you say that these private innocs ,might not be the real deal, kind of what i was thinking, tgwnn.
The only thing I know is that other countries do it,and it works best if the girl is a virgin. I have no problems with this, as not to protect your girls and keep your head buried in the sand for whatevwer reason is pointless.
