Anyone seen an osteo/chiro/physio for headaches?

I get occasional but very bad hemiplegic migraines which I think are linked to neck and shoulder tension and I keep at bay mostly with regular massage and exercises and treat with sumatriptan when they come.

But I’ve been getting other headaches lately maybe tension headaches? They don’t respond to painkillers and often involve a lot of eye socket pressure (one eye each time) and do involve a floaty detached from reality feeling so might be a different type of migraine and my neck is bad despite daily yoga this month.

So as per the title, has anyone had successful treatment by an osteopath chiropractor or physio for postural headaches?
Thanks.

It is possible to have more than one type of migraine. I have chronic migraine that can vary between vestibular, occular, stasis and aura forms of migraine. As you have a diaognosis of heamoplegic migraine please contact your headache clinic asap. If your migraine attacks come up with something new to you it is worth getting checked over. Sometimes preventive drugs stop working. Sometimes its a new health problem giving the old one a hefty kick. Speak to a doctor or headache specialist as a first step. If its is not migraine comming up with a new way of tormenting you then it might be worth spending the money on alternatives.

Severe migraine is notorious. Pain can refer down your shoulder and neck causing neck and shoulder muscle tension.

I did try a chiropractor for a while. Sadly no benefit to report. I found physio for managing the chronic pain from muscle guarding down my neck and shoulders more useful. The referral physio made for a pain clinic was even better. Does not solve all the problems from severe migraine but can help me manage some of the symptoms it causes.

As I suufer with aura and occular forms [causes horners syndrome] I am seen by an optermetric opthalmologist with a keen interest in migraine disorders once a year. The light blocking glasses they prescribed have been helpful in managing associated eye pain.

I've seen physio before for headaches. They were extremely painful. I still get them now. I was told alot of it was referred pain to do with the muscles in my neck and was offered deep tissue massage but was advised that this could be very painful. I was given acupuncture instead. It worked miracles I only had 2 or 3 treatments and the results lasted over a year. I've since had acupuncture again but done by someone else as I'd moved. It was no where near as effective.

Thanks @triballeader - I’ve never seen a specialist. Probably cause i was diagnosed in a&e (after blue lighting there with suspected stroke/meningitis/encephalitis) then responded very very well to sumatriptans so just have them on repeat.
Not sure if i should see my gp? Although I think they’re becoming more frequent they’re milder (ie I can take my drugs and know who I am) maybe I’m just better at knowing what’s going on.
I’m very pleased to say I don’t have chronic pain as such, just very easy to trigger flare ups.

That acupuncturist sounds good @HakunaMatataa but I feel I do have underlying postural issues. I do yoga and have massage but my neck and shoulders are still crappy.
