Anyone used thriva?

Since having lo 22 months ago I've gained weight, to be expected. I can't shift it. He sleeps well mostly I can normally get a good 8 hours but I'm always feeling ill or like I'm coming down with something. Low energy etc. I saw a code for thriva home blood tests and tempted to try it and see if anything crops up or is it just a bit of a fad. Would go to gp but the waiting times for ours is horrendous and can never seem to get one when Im off work and have childcare at the same time. It's near impossible really. Love some feedback if anyone's tried thriva? Thanks

Yes I’ve used them.

In your position I’d defuse them to get your thyroid, Vit b and Vit d tested.

They’re better than the NHS I think because your GP will just tell you everything is within limits. Whereas using thrive you get lots more detail.

Yes I’ve just bought one! I did use medichecks before and they were excellent but the £30 off on thriva convinced me to try them instead.

Just remember it’s a subscription service and you can set it to every three / six months or yearly. You can also cancel it but they will automatically send you the test if you don’t.

Also follow their advice to the letter before pricking your finger or you may struggle to get the required amount of blood.

Yes. I used them once then cancelled. They then continued to bombard me with emails and sales spiels. I also found it gave me health anxiety. I'd rather see my GP.

I tried this last week, it was really good to see the exact levels it’s teally well done but I wouldn’t do it again as I struggled collecting the amount of blood they needed... got very light headed and had to keep stopping and starting. If you’re fine with blood then go for it x

Yes and I'm torn on it. I found out I had a vitamin D deficiency and a slight iron deficiency through them... I was able to correct both within 3 months

However, I also learned my CRP result was 13 and the Thriva notes said this was 'grossly abnormal' and I must see my GP ASAP.

I called dr in a panic and blurted it all out and he was very exasperated with me, telling me that using private blood testing gave results that have no clinical context and that my CRP raised no alarm bells with him whatsoever.

So I felt a bit stupid.

However still glad I did it for the vitamin D and iron info!

So yes , go for it if you want to but bear in mind my cautionary tale above - this needs thinking about if you have health anxiety
