Please Help! makeup rosacea and skin care

I’ve got an all day event in a few weeks. Since I’ve been diagnosed with rosacea my skin burns and I haven’t been wearing makeup. But my skin is a mess. I’m currently using Cerave Face wash and moisturiser and zz cream in the evening.
I desperately need a makeup that won’t irritate my rosacea.
Any suggestions for skin care welcome.
I’m 47 had great skin until October last year.
Now it’s a mess I have no confidence. I went to the derm at the hospital after 6 months wait and it was a stand in he said try washing your face dandruff with shampoo . I could have cried as my skin is so sensitive if I was stupid enough to try I would have been in even more of a mess.
Please any suggestions???

I would ditch cleansing all together at the moment and just moisture to build and repair your natural barrier again.

I wouldn't use anything on my face that made my hands itch.

Can you use blue Nivea? Or plain Vaseline?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 07/01/2020 21:31

Or Eucerin as a pp suggested? That is so bland and calming.

I have rosacea and use the ordinary products-

So AM i use hydroloronic acid, and natural moisturisers

Pm i use the same plus azaelic suspension

Its not perfect but a lot better

Nivea unfortunately has lanolin in and I’m allergic to that ( hospital tested) Unfortunately a lot of Eucerin has Lanolin alcohol in . Not sure if there is any that don’t .

I used cetaphil for my rosacea and Vichy dermablend foundation to cover the redness. In the end I went on isotretinoin which got rid once and for all but I completely sympathise op, it’s soul destroying and in my case I felt the gp didn’t take its effect on my confidence and life seriously until I ended up with depression because of it

Aveeno?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 08/01/2020 11:15

I'm trying to think of all the creams that work for me. Zero Double base is another good one too.

I’ve been to Debenhams today and tried the Bare minerals I’ve had it on all day. They put Bare minerals combo control on Followed by original fairly light and concealer. It’s not burning and it’s been on all day. Feels a bit itchy now. Does anyone know how Lily Lolo compares as I’ve seen this coming up . What’s their nearest shade to Bare minerals fairly light ? Plus anyone with bad sensitive Rosacea use it ?

What @MetallicPaints said! Go to your GP and ask for some Soolantra. Cleared mine up almost completely. Have the occasional flare up but it is way way better than it ever was before.

Gaya cosmetics have been great for me when I’ve had a flare up. And Dermalex rosacea cream has been an absolute lifesaver. Hope you can get it under control.

I’ve just finished 4 months of soolantra.
And my skin is still burning on my chin.
My doc is a derm doc and she didn’t want me to continue with it .
