I've had RSI long term, no special diagnosis. Still wear splints when I'm on computer. Massage (& time) best treatment for me. Sports masseurs are usually trained to deal with RSI type injuries.

i had tendonitis when i first became manager of new shop and the thursday before i moved house(the next day) i went to a&e to have it checked (really thought it was broke) i was sent to have it set in pllaster! had to keep it on for about 4-6 weeks i think so unfortunatly couldnt do much liflting duriing move, just had to tell people where to put things!!! and got ribbed constantly at work (worked at a football club and dealt with the players daily)they used to take the p out of me when i tried to write with my 'claw'!!!
very painful tho and still get twinges occasionally when on here for too long so have utmost sympathy!

I know it's not quite the same but I've had RSI for ten years. I still have splints but find the night time ones too uncomfortable to wear.

Have you thought about a voice recognition system for your computer, and a hip seat for your child so that you don't use your arms too much?

lol at new mothers syndrome.

I had my fisrt acupuncture treament today and it was quite nasty. VERY painful like a shock going through the body. I have been told I have very high symptahetic nerve response. My arm thumb etc went VERY hot then frezing cold , so she had to take it out. I was very disaponted as I wanted it to be a good 1st experience now Im even more anxious about it. Im hoping it may just be the last residual inflmation coming to the surface, and may have been healing crisis that the bosy goes int b4 finally healing. Physio did say that it was much better and could now feel the tendons as not as inflamed and swollen.
Ive had ot strapped again and need it strapped for a few days now. have to wear my splint on top at night too. YUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

scaltygirl thanx for the post BTW . I am very into alternative therapies, so was quite surprised to get acupncture on NHS , but a friednwarned me that I should only have it done by a chinese practitioner asthey wholly know the eastern philsophys of healing the body. Im not sure the girl yesterday is fully qaulified as shes only done a few starter courses. I think a pracytioner that may have studied it for years would have been more careful about were to insert the needles, as she was going for topical direct areas, and a chinese practioner may have found another maridian away from the sensitive area to renergise it. Im still in pain this morn , it feels tiwngey and prickly.

I spoke with chinese practioner this morning, who suggested that may be the needle was either to deep inside or a few milimetres away from the correct point. YUCKKKKKKKKK. As it was only one It should ease in the next couple of days. She said there should be no pain really if positioned correctly.
