I’m 50 so could be meno related. I used to have eczema so could be related. I have hay fever, so could be related!

It’s driving me crazy!

Have used gentle moisturisers, night creams, no moisturisers, coconut oil, hydrocortisone (I know it’s not for faces but I was desperate) and I am full of antihistamines.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Ideally over the counter as I would be dead and buried by the time I could get an appointment at my surgery.

Thanks so much!

Cucumber on the eyes.

My crazy home made skin soother is sudocrem mixed with Vaseline. It's makes me look a bit like a slimy ghost but settles flare ups quickly. Cheap and easy to get hold of too... hope you get it sorted.

I find sudocreme incredibly stingy and makes them worse. I think the wetness of cucumber sore too - the skin is a bit raw. But thanks for suggestions.

I isolated that I’ve developed an intolerance/allergy to soya. I think the menopause can trigger all sorts of intolerances and stuff we could previously guzzle now makes us spotty. Has it got worse over Christmas?

NoNewsisGood · 31/12/2019 12:35

I would ask at your pharmacist. A lot of eczema creams and ointments are now available without prescription. They will also not have any other ingredients in that could be irritating your skin.

I think an ointment is probably what you need, but best to ask a pharmacist. I would try a large Boots, if you have one as may have more in stock.

I have the same problem and use Tears Naturale eye drops, you will need to ask the pharmacist for those, and Avene Skin Recovery cream on my face.

Definitely worse over Xmas. Never considered soy!

Will try pharmacist - thanks. Was hoping for something magical without leaving the house! Silly I know

Head to Boots and get some La Roche Posay Cicaplast Pro Recovery (NOT Cicaplast Baume). It's about £11 and comes in a skinny white tube. It's recommended by dermatologists for use after chemical peels. It will soothe and promote healing. Use it several times a day until you feel better.

It just happened to be soya in my case but it does sound as though something you’ve had over chrimbo has made things worse.

You haven’t had a cold recently? I get this after a cold.

MaybeeMaybeeNot · 31/12/2019 13:35

I have had a cold - Xmas innit?😁 I don’t usually suffer like this!

Thanks for product suggestion
