So, my dentist's office is closed until Friday. I've been on one antibiotics, but because of the reaction I had to it I was taken off it and wasn't put on the newest one until two days after. I've been on my current one for two doses, but I still have a decent amount of swelling and my cheekbone hurts on that side, I've been nauseous and sleepy all day.
I took a decent amount of tylenol and motrin, which seems to have helped with the swelling. But I still have until Monday with my appointment.

The tooth itself doesn't hurt, just the sinus area and my temples. But I've already went to the ER over the antibiotics, urgent care for new antibiotics and everything is closed.

Is there something i should do? Am i in danger? My dentist just told me to call them tomorrow if the swelling doesn't decrease and said the antibiotics I'm on has about a 60% chance of helping. I've been dealing with the abcess for about three weeks. I just don't want to end up in the hospital again on Christmas.

Have you got a lump in your mouth? I had an abcess in my upper tooth that developed a very large lump within the space of 24 hours, I had already been on antibiotics for 5 days & was due to go back to the dentist the next morning, I could see the pus under the lump & couldn't stand the pain any more. I sterilised a needle & stuck it in where I could see the pus, tsunami of awful smelling stuff came out, but the relief was great, I rinsed with hot salt water, made the hole a bit bigger, kept rinsing every few hours, if the pus built up again, I popped it again until next day when I had the tooth removed.

Hot salty mouthwashes, ice pack to the swelling for no longer than 1minute at a time, elevate head overnight.

We can't advise you on what services are available over Christmas, as you sound as if you're US based ( going off the names of your painkillers) .
