Should a tooth extraction hurt three days on?

I’m nervous because I’ve had dry socket before and obviously I’m terrified about being stranded over Christmas!

I can feel it’s healed over but it’s all a bit puffy feeling.

Because I’m an idiot I only remembered today that I was suppose to do salty rinses. I wonder if it’s a bit infected. How would I know? Confused

Is it prickling on your jawline was it an easy extraction? Infection feels like toothache in my experience

I had an extraction a few weeks ago and it was tender for about a week after. Even to touch my jaw was sore, but it's fine now. Just rinse when you can.

I had my first extraction 2&1/2 weeks ago. It only stopped being sore about a week ago if I'm honest. My gum is still a little tender but I'm fine now apart from that x

It's perfectly normal to hurt 3 days on, don't worry! Being a bit puffy and sore at this stage is normal. It will take a while to heal, everyone is different but normally about a week or so till it will feel healed, and up to 8 weeks to fully heal.

Post extraction infection is rare, you will know because you will get swelling that is getting worse. And pain that is getting worse.
