Hip pain...and allergic reaction to painkillers

Hi, please excuse any spelling mistakes am still suffering from the effects of an allergic reaction that I had today.

I went to the doctors this morning as I have had pain in my hips for the last 2 days. I was prescribed co-codamol and I took 2 tablets at 11.30am. The pain did go but have felt dreadful ever since and went back to the doctor this afternoon after an afternoon of throwing up, not being able to stay awake or stand up, to which the doctor told me I had an allergic reaction to the tablets. The problem is that he didn't give me anything to take in place of the co-codamol and I was too out of it to remember to ask. Has anybody got any suggestions to keep the pain away? TIA.

Are you sure it's in your hip? I had 'hip' pian for 7 years - or so I thought. Mostly when I woke up in the mornings. GP no help. Chiropractor scary. Went to osteopath - immediately declared it was not a hip pain, but in the top of my leg, and was basically toxins bunched in a muscle group that had not had enough specific use since motherhood. Much deep tissue massage and pulling and stretching over 4 months - NO MORE 'HIP' PAIN. GP's can't be experts at everything - seek an alternative, and treat the immediate pain with heat or cold - you'll know which works for you. Good luck.

Co-codamol often makes people sick (and constipated) Can you get Diclofenic (Voltarol) over the counter? Dd has ortho pain and takes co-codamol and voltarol but her's is prescribed.
