What could this be on my foot?

Intensely itchy. If I scratch it, it is eye wateringly painful. It is on my instep and if it touches my shoes, it itches more. It keeps me awake at night.
I have been putting Aveeno on it, as well as Dermovate.
GP's receptionist will not entertain me having a cancellation appointment and I have to wait for a routine one, which is a week tomorrow. They will not accept a photo to see if it needs looking at sooner.
Pictures attached, 3 days apart, getting worse (in case they come up in wrong order).

Hopeful bump.

Can you book a private chiropodist appointment instead of waiting a week?

Hatethewordhun · 09/12/2019 17:07

It looks to me like Pompholyx I get it on my hands, the itching is ridiculous!

bestbefore · 09/12/2019 17:15

Have you shown it to a pharmacist?

ChipInTheSugar · 09/12/2019 17:15

Yep another vote for pomphlyx, or dyshidrotic eczema by its other name.

Something like betnovate or an OTC substitute will sort it out.

CanIHaveADrink · 09/12/2019 17:16

I was thinking eczema too.

PlanDeRaccordement · 09/12/2019 17:18

It might be psoriasis of the feet with a secondary infection either fungal or bacterial due to the pus and itching.

twoheaped · 09/12/2019 19:24

I haven't seen a pharmacist, maybe that is an option and I never thought a chiropodist would cover this sort of thing.

I am loathe to pop them, which is what the receptionist suggested. For starters, it is too sore to contemplate going near it with a pin Confused

It's not normally recommended to pop these things, in case the infection is spread.

ChipInTheSugar · 09/12/2019 20:31

Popping does relieve the itching though!

worriedandannoyed · 09/12/2019 21:57

Looks exactly the same as when I had pompholyx ezcema. So painful but so itchy both at the same time. Mine was under and between all my toes, it was hard to even walk in the end. A pharmacist will be able to recommend a cream

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 09/12/2019 22:00

Don’t pop it! Definitely recommend getting a pharmacist to take a look at it.

fluffyjumper · 09/12/2019 22:18

Book the gp appt you can always cancel later but with feet there is always a high risk of infection. I would go to a pharmacist and get them to look at it. They are a great way to get good information.

I had that - it was shingles
