Frozen Shoulder injection question

Hello- I've had a frozen shoulder for 7 months and yesterday had the steroid injection into it. I know it doesn't work for everyone. At the moment I can't feel any difference. If you've had an injection and it worked for you- how long did it take to feel a difference? Thanks!

Hey @CleanAndPaidFor I’m a physio and often refer people with frozen shoulders for injections. Did you gp do it for you? It can sometimes take a few days to a week or so for it to kick in. Just make sure you’re not over doing things with it in the meantime. Best of luck.

Thank you chef. Yes, it was the GP. I have a lovely physio who has fixed many things for me. I'll be going back to see him in a few weeks to try and get it moving. I'm just a bit impatient I think as I really want it to work!

I had frozen shoulder in both sides at the same time. It was a very long 2 years before I was fully functional again!

I tried x-ray guided steroid injections into each shoulder and felt absolutely no benefit at All.

A wise person once said...

With treatment a frozen shoulder will resolve within 18 months. Without treatment it will take a year and a half.

My advice, from my experience, is to be kind to your shoulder while it's going through the process. It's inflamed and swollen inside, don't move it to much or mess with it. It will sort itself out in time.

Both sides chocolate! That must have been terrible! Yes I'm suspecting that I will just have to be a bit more patient.

I too had it in both shoulders.

It took a year to come, a year to live with, and a year to go away.

I had an injection in the first shoulder and it worked well from the first day. A little later had one in the second shoulder but felt no benefit at all.

It’s horrible and painful but it does go away eventually.

I had a suspected frozen shoulder and was injected by a consultant, he said it would work almost immediately if that was the problem, and it didn’t. Turned out I have a shallow shoulder ball and the joint wasn’t sitting in well. Very targeted physio on muscles holding it stable worked in the end. I was in pain for 4 years !
