Chronic Fatigue

Hi all, several years of pain, discomfort, tiredness, lack of energy and several other issues that I'm afflicted with, have taken a great toll on me, I had an appointment with my doctor, who has been brilliant with me, is 99% sure I'm suffering from Chronic Fatigue. The signs are there, I've had blood tests and have been keeping a diary of my day to day life and how it affects me. The content is not good and since my decision to escape from a woman I was having a relationship, has not improved my sense of wellbeing.
The doctor has tried me on a few medications to help me sleep, the last one being, Amytriptilene, but no matter when I take them, they only seem to take effect the following afternoon. I've also been taking Rosuvastatin, which as many will know is a statin, this is the fourth such type of statin I've taken and none seem to do anything apart from making me tired, achy, nauseous and irrational. So, the doctor has advised me to stop them for two weeks, to see if there's any change. Has anyone else had the same symptoms from either or both of these medications?
I don't like Christmas to start with and even as a child, I never liked it, why? I don't know, but that's just me. With it being only 3 weeks away, I just want to close the door and wake up when it's 2020. I'll be keeping up with the diary and my feelings as each day progresses and have another appointment on December 30th.

This is not like me, I'm normally upbeat, full of fun and ready for a laugh. The season changes don't seem to bother me, as I take each day as it comes and try and find something to do each day to keep myself busy and occupied.

If anyone can advise or make any suggestions that may help or give me a different way of looking at things, I'd be very grateful.

Thank you.

You could look for a CFS/ME supporting group to meet up with for tips on coping strategies.

Hi @hunkyfunkymunky, I don't have experience with CFS myself but my partner has it. You have my sympathy - it's really shit Flowers.

AFAIK, the only treatments with any evidence base behind them are 'pacing' - basically cut back all activity to a really low level (e.g. one 5 minute walk a day). For one week do the 5 minute walk every day, then the next week move up to two 5 minute walks a day and so on. It's takes fucking ages but if you're able to control your activity level to that extent then it's a good way of building up energy/strength. The other treatment is CBT to help you deal it. Can your go refer you to a specialist (either doctor or cbt practitioner?).

One other thing that my partner finds helpful is meditation - he's not "spiritual" at all but I think he finds it clears his head.

I hope something works for you. It's really rubbish. Flowers
