Hello can anyone point me in the right direction for advice on treatment options and issues to consider with a breast cancer diagnosis?
Have been given the traditional range of routes, surgery, possible mastectomy, drugs etc. Will be clearer when other results re hr2 etc are in

Just wondered where to go to make sure I'm well informed

Have a look on CRUK website for current clinical trials that can offer you different treatments to the standard of care

Also, having been there a couple of times personally, you should have access to a specialist nurse who can help answer questions about all your options and can liaise with your consultant for clarification of any specifics.

Ask the questions, write them down and ask lots.

Lots of us with breast cancer on this thread..

One thing to beware of is that Google often produces outdated information and also US websites where treatment protocols are different.
This is a great book about breast cancer.

I have IDC with DCIS and no nodal involvement. ER neg HER2 pos. If you have any questions.

Having some hormone positive response means you will have options regarding long term treatment in terms of medication. Your oncologist should go into the specifics for you, explaining the pros and cons.

But look into everything and always hold onto the fact that what ever drug treatments you choose you can always stop, change direction or adjust.

Thanks @Minxmumma
Saw consultant today and have to decide on surgery soon or wait for genetic test results, which take about 8 weeks, and may mean I need a mastectomy.
I'm seeing someone at the haven Friday so will decide after that I think
