Issymum

I noticed this morning when you were talking to Mears that you referred to getting help for incontinence for your DH I'm so sorry you have all had to go through this and was glad to hear things are better for him now.

I'm writing this in the hope that you can help me track down some help for the urge incontinence I have been experiencing since my last baby. My GP has referred me for physio at a local practice - not hospital based.

Does that sound right to you? Who should I be seeing? Do you know any specialists in London you could recommend?

I'd be very grateful for any pointers you could give me. As you know this is a miserable situation

Thank you.

you may find these people useful:-

they also have a contact number for a help line on their site

The physio is often the first step, after a few weeks/months (sometimes using a biofeedback computer) the physio will refer you to a specialist (if the problem is no better)
There are loads of options at that point
Remember that 90% (ish) of people are sorted out with physio.....I was unusual in that I needed a small op.
Lots of luck

I've been going to a physio for 6 weeks or so to help with bladder leaking that's been there during and since my last pregnancy (dd is now 2 years old!). They hook me up to a biofeedback machine and it's been really really helpful. I had a series of tests done in the usa and they basically all said that there was nothing major wrong and all I needed was biofeedback. Once my gp referred me it took several months to get an appointment. Try calling for cancellations if you are anxious to get in sooner.

Thank you for these messages.

I'm relieved to hear physio is indeed the place to start and have made an appointment. I will also look at the website to see what other information I can find there.

It is very reassuring to think there is hope things will improve.

Contact Christine Norton at St Marks Hospital, Harrow. She is fantastic.
