What pain relief have you taken?
Spontaneous onset or history of recent trauma/fall?

Could you ask for an emergency telephone appt with your GP with a view for a possible script for diazepam to ease the spasms?

Caramel78 · 19/11/2019 13:54

Could be sciatica which is bloody awful. Could you lie on your front with a hot water bottle on your bum/lower back area? You might be able to be seen faster at urgent care but you would probably have to sit in the waiting room for an hour or two which wouldn’t be much fun if you’re in serious pain. Phoning 111 they can maybe get you a specific appointment time though.
If it gets unbearable then I would go to a&e in case you have something like a slipped disc. They could hopefully dose you up with morphine

You do have someone to help - your husband. I appreciate he has a business to run but he also has a wife who clearly needs him.
Ask him to get some OTC codeine based pain relief.
Have you called the GP for an emergency appt?

Any urinary symptoms?
Strange or loss of sensation?

Caramel78 · 19/11/2019 14:30

When you see GP on thur push to get them to book you in for an emergency scan of your back soon

Urine seems normal pain in hips more on one side then comes around to groin and down leg and foot

Apply voltarol gel then take paracodol orally.
Don't bother with oral ibuprofen if you have stomach troubles already.
Warm compress/wheat bag/bath and google some gentle stretches in case it's a trapped nerve: nothing strenuous in case it isn't a trapped nerve.

ODFOx · 19/11/2019 14:45

Back/ hip pain? Google exercise for SI joint. For right side Lie on your back with left foot flat On wall. With knee bent. Put right leg up so ankle is pressing on left knee. This gently stretches out the si joint. Do opposite side. Try a few minutes at a time and see if it helps. Do not strain.

It sounds to me like sciatica. I’ve had it and it’s an awful pain. I paid for private physio in the end as docs were no help. Best thick I ever did. I was so much more comfortable even after just one session.

PollyFeather · 20/11/2019 17:38

I would pay and see a physiotherapist. You'll be seen quickly, and examined and they may be able to spot what it is. It'll cost you £60 give or take and could help you feel better and more able to move around

In the meantime - sleep with a pillow or special block, between your knees. This stops you flipping one leg right over the other which twists your pelvis. Alternate hot water bottles and ice. Hot bath with Epsom salts. Painkillers. Heat pads.

Royallyscrewed · 20/11/2019 17:43

Try some epsom salt in a warm bath, childs yoga pose to stretch out and try to keep mobile. Make sure you Standing as straight as you can and aren’t walking stooped over. If you want I can pm you a screenshot of the physio plan my surgeon gave me after lumbar surgery?
