Horrendous PMS

Found out today why last week has been emotional hell, periods started again after baby no.3. Life at the moment has been pretty stressful but not enough to make me feel like I did last week. Dizzy, headaches, tiredness and a temper that could kill! It does seem as though my symptoms have worsened after each child and I really want to address it now. So all help gratefully received - especially by my eldest!

have you started on any new hormonal contraception at all? otherwise the usual remedies - vitamin B6, evening primrose oil or if things get very bad, Prozac (has actually been marketed for PMT!) other thing that is meant to help is eating regular light carbs, crispbreads etc

reflexology is excellent for PMS but you need a course and then maybe one every month or whatever you respond best with.

one treament wont do it.

alternatively, aromatherapy massage using appropriate oils... the therapist may even blend some for you to add to baths.

Someone said something to me about Agnus Castus, what is it and has anyone used it?

Emmagee, I have just had my Mirena coil removed as I am ttc no. 3, but absolutely LOVED it and will have one back in after no. 3! I too suffered terrible PMS - mood and painwise - and it reduced the symptoms almost to nothing. I had no periods at all (yipee!), and the only psychological symptoms I had were extreme forgetfulness and vagueness around the time I should have had PMT (which drove dh mad but hey, it was worth it ). Best to see your local FPC about one, as they are more used to fitting them than GPs.
