Night sweats - causes?

I've been experiencing really horrible night sweats. I saw the dr to check if I am peri-menopausal (I am 43), but there was no signs of that. Any other ideas what might cause them &/or tips to try and help? Last night I had to change PJs twice in the night & the third pair was also drenched by morning. It's not happening all the time but when it does it is pretty awful & killing my sleep. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Dr did say tests don't show signs but that they may not be indicative. I have mirena cool so hard to track periods. He did say if things persist to go back in fairness. At that time I was really stressed with work though so thought it might be stress/anxiety. Having addressed that and got myself in a much better mental place they're clearly being caused either by peri menopause or something else.... after reading about diabetes or hypoglycemia I wonder if that might have something to do with it but I didn't run or do major exercise yesterday & still had to change in the night ... will keep an eye on this too though & if they persist (3 nights in a row now) I'll try for GP again

I bought myself a blood glucose home monitor about 18 months ago. I don't have diabetes fortunately, but it has been very reassuring and helped me stabilise my dietary intake, reduce sugars, and stay aware. (I'm surgically in menopause.),

It didn't cost a lot, but I got a lot of benefit. Same with my home blood pressure monitor, as I'm on HRT and I get stupidly high 'anxiety readings' at the GP surgery. I do a week's readings am, pm and bedtime, every couple of months, to check I'm the right side of Ok.

Thanks @AutumnCrow what monitor did you buy?

The blood glucose is Safe-Accu, and the blood pressure is Omron.

You need to buy the sharps and strips with the blood glucose monitor too; but you can buy them all together online. Are you ok with jabbing a finger tip for a drop of blood? You only need a tiny bit.

I'm watching with interest and the hope of some ideas on what causes night sweats.

I've just had 2 babies close together plus regular periods so I cant be peri-menopause (I'm 38). And I've just had a negative test result for diabetes. I do have essential hypertension tho. DR was less than interested when I told him how I wake up soaked despite sleeping with the big tower fan facing me.
