I take apixaban 5mg twice daily for past clotting events and in my last haematologist letter my doctor said my levels we're 98 and i am now to go down to 2.5mg twice a day?
So is my blood too thin? Just wondering what the 98 means.

Without knowing what test result it is there’s literally no way to know. Best bet is probably to speak to your haematologist/coag clinic.

Exactly what levels were 98? Is it INR levels that they are testing?

Emptyspacex · 12/10/2019 17:19

No not inr it just said apixaban levels.

It sounds like the Dr was monitoring the level of apixaban in the blood. What prompted this test? Were you having unexplained bleeding, for example, as this could mean that the levels were too high

Emptyspacex · 12/10/2019 20:01

Yeah bleeding from gums and really heavy periodsSad

I think they have decreased the dose as you didn't need the higher dose- hope your symptoms respond to the change in treatment and you feel better soon.
