I had a 'funny turn' today at work

I'm mid 40's and today I had a strange feeling/ pain. It started behind my right breast and moved up to my neck and right ear.

It last 5 minutes and afterwards I felt fine.

A colleague said it was stress. Which to be honest, I am working crazy hours and I'm exhausted.

I am terrified it's something more serious.

What were you doing when it happened? Keep an eye, and if you get it again get to see GP.

I think it would be a good idea to have a chat with someone at GP surgery and get blood pressure checked as a minimum. If it worries you enough to post on here it’s worth following up, even if in all likelihood it’s nothing serious.

Could it have been a muscle spasming - one of the ones that helps you move your head, so joins between your skull onto a lower down bit near your shoulder? From being hunched up over a desk/mouse/laptop too much without breathing properly, maybe?

I have been prone to get very painful spasms in my intercostal muscles (between ribs) in my chest in the past when I've been very tense (makes you gasp!) - this sounds a bit similar?

I was simply sitting at my desk when it happened.

I think it is muscular as I have had a mild ear ache which seems to stem from my neck (trapped nerve possibly).

I'm so scared of doctors... j know it's so pathetic and if I was giving someone else advice I would say 'get it checked out!'...

I just want it to go away!!

Try rubbing on ibuprofen gel?

It could have been something as simple as wind but if I were you I would just mention it to the GP.
