it has to be near us (NW Lonodon) so i think choice is between, Royal Free, UCH, Whittington (sp?), barnet.

anyone had experience or knows how to look?

Of those I'd pick a teaching hospital (ie the Free or UCH) as they're more likely to have more frequent clinics and more senior specialists than a district general like Barnet.

Looking at their webpages I'd say UCH would be my top choice, followed by the Free.
The Whit looks like a bit of a skeleton service and the Barnet page doesn't mention it at all.

This is assuming they're all equally easy for you to get to - if you'll be going often an easy journey is important.

thank you Mrs B!

makes alot of sense re teaching hospital, so RFH or UCH.

Why would you choose UCH first?

Just because the department seems to be bigger, hence is probably better staffed and funded and has more clout at a higher level.

Going on gut feeling, I also like that they give you so much information, inc the names of the lead consultants, on the webpage - bodes well for patient communication.

Not sure what specifically you've been referred for, but the fact they collaborate with Queen's Square, who are the place for neurology & neurosurgery, would also make me very confident in their abilities if surgical intervention was on the cards.

yes they do seem to be more patient friendly. But they are much further - I am just in their catchment area. However my experince in UCh have been quite good so will prob go there.

Ive been referred for low blood sugar on blood test results. I dont really know anything about it. I think the gp wants first to see if it was a freak one-off result or an actual prob.

Ive been drinking lucozade for the past weeek and its really helped my feeling weak and tired, But stopped now as i gained over it!
