I noticed this in bed on fri morning, I thought i was laid on something at first, I then realised I have a hard lump , It seems big 2 inch+ above and possibly behind my right nipple. It is sore to touch, but I have no signs of infection..

Anyone been here? I'm terrified.

I'm sure it'll be fine. When I went there were lots of women sitting around in their robes waiting for one thing or another. They had lots of gossip mags and we brought some coffee and cakes up from the canteen. This was at St Barts in London.

Well i just cried...From start to finish , total wreck. It was so busy, you had to sit in a little waiting area with your feet almost touching the person opposite.( for 3 hrs.)

I had a mammagram & ultrasound & I have a large cyst & several smaller ones in both breasts.. I'm so relieved

They could asperate them with a needle they thought , but i really could not have tolerated that. So I am just going to forget about them. I was in such a panic to get out of there I didn't ask anything. Do cysts go away?

Feeling emotionally drained, & def counting my blessings here. Puts things in perspective really.

That must be a tremendous relief for you. Aren't the mamograms horrible?! Ouch! I am only going to find out next week what's wrong after nearly 2 years. All the tests they did in 2005 were inconclusive, I was pg, and they wanted to leave it until the baby arrived. That baby is now 1, and after more tests and an operation, they still don't know what the problem is. We are leaving the country in less than 2 weeks, so if I need further treatment or tests, I don't know what will happen.

I've just been to the hospital to get some results and they tell me I have cancer. I don't think I'm old enough. They will have to do another operation and possibly lop off my boob. I may need some hormone treatment as well. They don't think it's invasive but they won't know for certain until next week.

OMG.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

I hope you have more positive news next week.

When do they do the op?

nannie- i'm glad your outcome was good, i am in the waiting position ATM. I was told 2 weeks for scan too, but now have private u/s tomorrow

hellobello - How are you??? sorry to hear your news, Take care and don't worry abut leaving ATM just relax and look after youself that's more mportant, get someone else to make new arrangement if you can and put your feet up.

I'm really scared too, hope I just have cysts too.

They think it's DCIS and I will prob have a masectomy and hormone treatment (tamoxifen or something). I don't know whether or not to go ahead with breast reconstruction. Dh and I are going to see the surgeon tomorrow to discuss the treatment and whether we can actually go away or not. I expect the NHS would be thrilled if we were going - I think it's prob cheaper in Eastern Europe.

This is only the beginning. I hope they don't find anything else - it's only when they operate that they will know whether or not the cancer is invasive or whether it is localised. They have not told me yet what grade it is. I'm going to look on the Breast Cancer Care website. The surgeon said I also have pappiloma (sp), which he has not seen before.
