Hand hold please - found a lump

Hi everyone
So, I have found a lump next to the cleavage on my left breast. It doesn't feel like a cyst as it doesn't move freely. It is pretty small and I only noticed it tonight.
Any words of wisdom, or even a bit of hand holding, would be gratefully appreciated.
I am going to make a GP appointment on Thursday, hopefully.

MyBeloved I'm sure most women have found lumps at one time or other. Most of the time it's nothing serious sometimes it is. The only thing to do is getting it checked like you are doing. I know you'll be worried until then as I was.

@Oldmum55
Thank you for your reply. You are right, and I am pretty calm, but having seen a few of my friends battle breast cancer, it has made me a bit more anxious.

You will almost certainly be referred for a 2 week appointment and hopefully your clinic will be a one stop shop, at the end of which you will have a fair idea of what you are dealing with. Having been there, done that, more than once, there is very little anyone can say at this stage to stop you being anxious but the odds are significantly in your favour of it being a benign lump. If it isn’t, then you are in the right place to start a treatment plan. I wish you all the best.

Have someone go with you to the docs if you can and do something to take your mind off it so it's not all you're thinking about. Must be horrible for you. Think of things you have already overcome in life. Stay strong. SmileFlowers

MyBeloved its only natural to be worried. The only person I know that always refused to be negative, was my mother in law. She went through countless health scares but each time she was positive until proved otherwise. Waiting is the worst part but it should all move pretty quickly. Keep us posted Flowers

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate you taking time to reply.

I'm sure it's nothing and remain positive - just a bit anxious really.

I also worry that it is so small the GP will wonder why on earth I am wasting an appointment (yet I also realise how daft thinking like that is).

Of course, I will update you after my appointment - thank you again.

Hey :) this is probably a stupid question but have you looked at it properly on the outside? I felt something once but then when I actually looked it was a spot, albeit a bloody massive one, which obviously went away.

Just saying that on the absolute off chance that you're worrying over nothing.

But it's great that it's small, and that you've found it. Even if it is something, the sooner the better, and even if it is cancer, it is VERY treatable nowadays :).

I really really hope you get good news.

Also, your GP will NEVER think you're wasting time if you've found a lump. Never. I promise.

MyBeloved · 25/09/2019 23:48

It is smooth all over with a pink tinge. Do you think it could be a spot?

Thanks for you OP.
Good luck with your appointment x

MyBeloved · 26/09/2019 15:32

Hello everyone

Updating as promised: GP said it is nothing to worry about, said it is just part of the breast? He said to keep an eye on it and if any changes to go back.

Thank you for your support x
